Opening Doors for Homeowners in Otago.

James Crooks is excited to open Green Homes Otago providing energy efficient homes to the local community. He is proud to be part of The Green Homes New Zealand group and what they have to offer, particularly because of their strong systems, “impress culture” and established plan base.

Introducing James

James Crooks has been in the building industry for over 40 years, mostly in Dunedin. Having served his apprenticeship in Invercargill before spending a year working on Commercial Hotels in Queenstown and then spending several years working as builder during his OE. In that time he worked in Australia ,Canada, America and The UK before coming back home and settling in Dunedin.

Starting his own Business in 1992 James has built over 100 houses in the Otago area, including many alterations and several large commercial steel sheds. He has developed a good reputation for delivering a quality product. James has also been heavily involved in The Otago Registered Master Builders serving over 20 years on the executive board including a term as local President. He has also been a National finalist in the House of The Year Awards.

Green Homes Otago is building a showhome in Highland Park, Mosgiel and plan to open early 2026. The Green Homes difference provides all the attributes James believes many are searching for in a building company. It offers a sustainable building process and delivers this in spades when it comes to the finished product, where you can indeed feel right at home with Green Homes.

James looks forward to providing the Otago area with stylish homes that will perform well in the local climate – for now and in future years to come.
